Your home is one of your most important investments. Spending a little time to prepare it before placing it on the market will in most cases bring you a higher return.

Here are a few tips I hope helps you:

1) Take a walk through your home and decide what things you are not taking with you when you move. Donate them or give them away to peope who would like them. Remember You are moving!

2) Now try and declutter by putting things which are on counters and cluttering the home, into boxes . If you can get a storage unit this is ideal or at  least take one end of the wall in your  garage and stack the boxes nicely. They can be marked so if you do need something you can still find it.

3) Take a look around and walk through the various rooms. Are you able to walk comfortably around the room. If you can't , then move your furniture around or remove some until you move. Buyers want to have a smooth flow in thier  home. If there is too much furniture yur rooms  will look and feel smaller. Too many blankets, doilies and pillows are in some cases too much. You want the buyers to look at the home not what and how you decorate.

4) Fridge magnets are a big thing to take down. Too many family pictures are a distraction as well. Leave soem up for sure but limit it to a few. Kitchen appliances toaster ovens, coffee pots, spice contianers ....(limit them)

5) Now that you have decluttered you need to look at walls, doors and door frams. Are there areas which are in need for a littel fresh paint. Paint is inexpensive and if you are nto able to paint yourself then check out a handy man who can come in and give a touch up or a fresh coat of paint on walls. Neutral is always important as its not your home once its sold and bueyrs want to see a clean fresh colour they can live with or change later if they wish. Exterior, you need to look at the frotn door as its the first thing that greets you.
